5th October 2 day Birding Tour

Friday 5th October 2015 - Birthday boy!

I was hoping for something special today, but we didn't quite manage special! Although a nice start with a few Red-throated Diver off Cley, including great views of a breeding plumage bird just offshore, plus Guillemot, Razorboll, Gannet all plentiful offshore at Cley. Two Wheatear were nice to watch hopping along the shoreline!

We then headed off to kelling where the juv Pectoral Sandpiper was still present, a beautiful marked juv with chestnut fringes to all the flight feathers.

From here we stopped off again at Cley, nice selcetion of birds from the East Bank, 2 Spotted Redshank, Bearded Tit, Black-tailed Godwit, Ruff, Black-tailed Godwit, Grey Plover & several Pintail.

We finished the day with 2-3 hours at Wells & despite seeing lots of Goldcrest,Chiff-chaff, Blackcap, Treecreeper, Nuthatch, Long-tailed Tit etc we just couldn't find the Yellow-browed Warbler.

Still a good 2 days with around 108 species recorded.
